About Me

Ever sense I got an SNES when i was 5 I had an interest in video games and the technologies that drive them. I didn't have access to computers to program so I spent my free time doing concept artwork and writing stories for games that I would want to make one day.

In high school I started to get involved more with music. I taught myself piano and eventually started to study under Mark Westcott. In exchange for lessons, I built him and website and was introduced and fell in love with programming.

When I am not working on a website I am likely playing or working on a game. I still practice the piano on occasion and picked up a new hobby, ballroom dancing.

Freelance
I currently work as a freelancer and operate as a single member LLC business. I find clients, design markups, build, launch and maintain websites. Most of my work as a freelancer is with WordPress and Symfony. Some of the websites are hosted on servers that I manage.

I built Drupal websites based on photoshop mockups and requirement spec sheets. I assisted with managing the staging server and developer local development servers using puppet and vagrant. Every week I held a training meeting to train developers on topics such as testing, object oriented programming and version control.

I would create HTML/CSS templates based on photoshop mockups and assisted other developers convert them to dynamic templates for CMS Made Simple. I sped up the process by using LESS and SMARTY before we would move them over to CMS Made Simple. I also assisted with content entry for the websites before they would be released.
